I love my Kauai Kimono. Its so light and dries fast which is great for me because I train several times per day. I'm also traveling a lot for seminars these days, and the Kauai gi packs easy in my suitcase so I can bring it everywhere. Its been my pleasure to represent these guys and their gi's because they are doing something cool and different. Train hard guys! Get a Kauai Kimono!

The ripstop is a nice lite gi for summertime. And their cotton gi is strong too. We use it here in SF for regular and rigorous training. Good job guys and train hard!

The guys have on their website that Kauai Kimonos are the future in light weight BJJ Gi’s! I want to tell you that if you do not have a Kauai Kimono you are missing out epically! Yes, Kauai Kimonos at the time of the writing are the lightest Gi on the market. I predict that other brands are going to be following Kauai’s model. I love how light and how well designed the Kauai Kimono is. One thing I do to mess around with my friends when I stop by their academy for the first time rocking the Kauai brand is throw the top to them saying, “Catch!” Everyone in the room is impressed at how much different the Kauai Kimono is compared to everything they ever wore, and these guys are black belts that have tried it all!

Kauai Kimonos are made to last, super light, dry incredibility fast, packs easy for travel and seminars, are the best for heat wave training sessions, ideal for making your weight category at the next competition, they absorb sweat and have a “NO-GI feel” to them sometimes when you train. These kimonos are rad! Put a Kauai Kimono on and start applying guillotine chokes from the side position or the front headlock position; your arm will be slipping into position like no-gi training: Very Ninja as mentioned on the Kauai Kimonos website! You will love this brand as I do to, and it is cool that the guys running the company are real Jiu-Jitsu guys with the ALOHA SPIRIT! Spread the good word and keep the good direction,

The Kauai Kimono is GREAT, I not only love the feel but the look. Sweet embroidery design and very nice construction make this gi one of my favorites. Proud to be the first in Idaho to rep the hawaiian style. I'm loving the kimono and I always get compliments on it. Thanks guys for making such an aweome product! Aloha

I am a stuff guy, study it, break it apart, and buy lots of it. This is the best ripstop material ever. I know because I've been wearing ripstop fabric every day since May 11, 1999 in my US Army uniforms...this is tougher than any US Army produced or commercial after market stuff I've tried.

Looks wise it is slick. I mean this gi is real sharp. The details are immaculate! Being in the Army I closely examine things looking for loose threads. This did not have a one. I was impressed by that. The embroidery on the inside of the skirt are a very nice touch. Graphics are not to overpowering. The gray piping really is a good look. The gi is as light as a feather. When a person sweats in it, it does not hold water like a traditional kimono making it much more comfortable. The cut is some what tailored.

Of course everyone at my gym gave this a look over, many guys were suspect, "oh it will rip" was what I heard over and over again...they tried, I told them too, I gave them a sleeve and they were going crazy on it with both tea cup and fist grip...not a single stitch popped.

Overall love it! And the fact that I can toss it in the dryer, HUGE plus. This is going to be my everyday Gi, it bumped a Shoyoroll batch 6 ripstop. Thank you again. Love the gi and your customer service is incredible. Mean it some of the best customer service ever. THANKS!

When I first got it I was amazed at how light it was! I had my seamstress (also my secretary at work) look over the stitching and she said it was very well made with great stitching. She has worked on many of my existing gi's and she said this looked great in comparison.

The first time I wore the uniform was a whole new adventure... it felt different, reacted differently, and I was almost chilled in it as it wicked away the sweat so fast.

The big question mark for me was if it would be durable enough. Each time I have trained in it, I have encouraged my training partners to be as brutal to the uniform as they can be. I have yet to hear the fabric stretch and there is no sign of the punishment it has received.

This gi was made for me since I TRAVEL TO TRAIN, and I often teach and train in HOT WEATHER ENVIRONMENTS. I must admit I was/am skeptical as to how this light of a gi can last compared to the traditional weaves, but let me tell you, so far so good!

Check out http://www.kauaikimonos.com for all their gear, but pick up the 100% ripstop gi if you are in a hot area or if you need a light gi to travel with you.

Happy Grappling
