Kauai Kimonos is committed to manufacturing our own products to ensure the best possible craftsmanship. We are producing in the beautiful Indonesian island of Bali and have assembled a small but dedicated team of local women who are passionate about sewing as we are about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It's definitely been a challenge, but also part of the journey. Truly a blessing for us to be apart of these people's lives. We are having lots of fun and love what we do! Check it out!

Kauai Kimonos currently only has 3 seamstresses working to bring you the best in handmade BJJ kimonos. We wouldn't be anywhere if it weren't for the talent and dedication of these wonderful people. You can see we aren't mass producing our Gi's in sweat-shop like conditions. Our worker's lives are important to us and we vow to protect and nurture them to a better future. They are changing our lives and we are changing theirs. Its a team effort, and you're involved too!

ENSURING HIGH QUALITY
Kauai Kimonos has implemented strict quality control from its inception. Our tightly-knit team is highly trained and serious about their responsibility to you. We know how sensitive the jiu-jitsu community is about quality, and this is why we've taken the time to do things right from the beginning. Our entry into the market has been slow, but we are really just starting to gain momentum.
Kauai Kimonos uses only the best machinery and materials in our workshop and we guarantee a professionally made product. We utilize top-quality JUKI industrial sewing machines directly imported from Japan, and set all of our standards above the rest. Kauai Kimonos recognizes that taking a few simple extra steps in production ultimately leads to making a better product, as we strive to produce the perfect BJJ Gi for you.
- All fabric is pre-washed before cutting to allow proper shrinkage.
- Polyester Jean thread is used to increase strength and durability.
- All labels are hand checked for rejects before sewing begins.
- Embroidery work is checked for errors and all loose threads are trimmed.
- Each batch is washed again after stitching to ensure the garment is 100% preshrunk.
- We have a 25 point QC checklist that every Gi must pass before packing and shipping.
- Regular trips to the spa/salon after production to reward our girls for their hard work!
